Turkish head coach Fuat Usta: A former professional midfielder with extensive experience in Dutch football, Fuat Usta has developed his coaching career across Türkiye, the Netherlands and Russia. He has worked as an assistant coach at Fortuna Sittard, served in the Türkiye national team setup under Guus Hiddink, led Türkiye A2 and later worked in youth development at Anzhi Makhachkala before becoming head coach of MVV Maastricht.

About the Coach

Turkish coach Fuat Usta was born on 3 July 1972 in Samsun, Türkiye. He began his coaching career after retiring from professional football and developed his early coaching experience in the Netherlands with Fortuna Sittard.

Between 2007 and 2010, Usta worked as an assistant coach at Fortuna Sittard. In 2010, he joined the Türkiye national team coaching staff under Guus Hiddink and was also responsible for Türkiye A2. He remained in the national team setup until November 2011.

In October 2012, Usta moved to Russia with Hiddink and joined Anzhi Makhachkala as a youth coach. He worked within the club's youth development structure until 2017. He subsequently returned to MVV Maastricht, where he worked as an assistant coach during the 2017–2018 season.

Usta completed his UEFA Pro coaching qualification and was appointed head coach of MVV Maastricht ahead of the 2019–2020 season. He managed 30 matches during his only season in charge, recording a points-per-match average of 0.90. His contract ended on 30 June 2020, after which he became a free agent.
