Turkish coach Abdullah Mucib Avcı began his coaching career at İstanbulspor. In October 2005, he led the Turkish U-17 team to their second ever European U-17 Football Championship title. He also guided them to their first-ever qualification for the FIFA U-17 World Cup, finishing third. In 2011, he reached the Turkish Cup final with İstanbul Büyükşehir Belediyespor. Also in 2011, he became the head coach of the Turkish National Football Team. In the 2021-22 season, he led Trabzonspor to their first TFF Süper Lig championship and two TFF Super Cup titles, accumulating 81 points.

About the Coach

Turkish coach Abdullah Mucib Avcı began his coaching career as an assistant coach in the teams of Aykut Kocaman, Metin Türel, and Ziya Doğan at İstanbulspor. In 2002, he coached the İstanbulspor U-21 team and served as the youth development coordinator. In 2004, he became the head coach of the Galatasaray U-21 team and coached the Galatasaray A2 team the following season. In October 2005, he became the head coach of the Turkey U-17 team and led Türkiye to its second ever European U-17 Football Championship title. Under Avcı's leadership, Turkey also qualified for the FIFA U-17 World Cup for the first time in its history. Avcı was successful in this tournament as well, leading the team to a third-place finish. In 2006, he became the head coach of İstanbul Büyükşehir Belediyespor. He coached the team for five seasons and reached the Turkish Cup final in 2011. On November 17, 2011, he became the head coach of the Turkish National Football Team. After two years managing Turkey, he was dismissed following unsuccessful results in the 2014 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers. In 2014, he became the manager of Istanbul Başakşehir, which had recently changed its name. In 2020, he was appointed as the manager of Trabzonspor. In the 2021-22 season, he won his first Süper Lig championship with Trabzonspor, accumulating 81 points.
