Turkish head coach Kasim Gökyildiz: An experienced Turkish coach with extensive experience in Ghanaian football, Kasim Gökyildiz returned to the Ghana Premier League in July 2026 after being appointed head coach of Heart of Lions. He signed a contract running until 30 June 2027. Gökyildiz has previously worked with King Faisal, Bechem United, Hohoe United and other clubs in Ghana, as well as clubs in Türkiye and Germany.

About the Coach

Turkish coach Kasim Gökyildiz was born on 15 November 1965 in Adana, Türkiye. He holds an A+ coaching licence and has built a coaching career across Türkiye, Germany and Ghana. Transfermarkt records his coaching career from the late 1990s, including work with DFB-Stützpunkt and clubs in Germany before later moving into senior football management.

Gökyildiz has developed extensive experience in Ghanaian football. He worked with King Faisal and Ashanti Gold before joining Bechem United in September 2022 as Technical Director and U18 Head Coach. He later returned to senior management with Hohoe United, where he took charge during the 2025–2026 season.

In July 2026, Gökyildiz was appointed head coach of Heart of Lions ahead of the 2026–2027 Ghana Premier League season. The club confirmed that he signed a one-year contract with an option for renewal. His appointment marked another return to Ghanaian top-flight football after previous spells with King Faisal, Bechem United and Hohoe United.
