About the Coach
Hakan Ramis-Hayrettin was born on 4 February 1970 in London, England. He began his football career with Leyton Orient before playing for clubs including Barnet, Torquay United, Wycombe Wanderers, Cambridge United, Doncaster Rovers and Peterborough United. He later continued playing in non-league football while beginning his coaching career.
Hayrettin began his managerial career with Waltham Forest in 2003 before taking charge of Thurrock in 2006. He subsequently managed Grays Athletic, where he won the Isthmian League Division One North title in 2013. He then joined Luton Town as an assistant manager and was part of the coaching staff during the club's successful return to the Football League.
Hayrettin managed Braintree Town in two separate spells. He first took charge in September 2016 and returned as caretaker manager in October 2018. In January 2019, he joined Maidstone United, initially as head coach before becoming the club's manager. During the 2021–22 season, he guided Maidstone to the National League South title and promotion to the National League. He was also named National League South Manager of the Year and won Manager of the Month awards in December 2021 and April 2022.
In March 2023, Hayrettin was appointed manager of Dulwich Hamlet. His tenure ended on 7 January 2025, after which he became a free agent. His managerial record includes more than 180 recorded matches across Braintree Town, Maidstone United and Dulwich Hamlet, in addition to his earlier managerial positions.
